It's that time of year again! Your garden looks IMMACULATE. You've trekked through the ROUGHEST terrain. Either way, you arm is red, twice the size, and ITCHY. Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, AND Poison Sumac have returned, and you are their victim. FEAR NOT! There are ways to take away the itch, and to do it naturally. Here are a couple of my favorites: Ingredients1 tsp. Kosher salt (I don't know why you need Kosher, all I know is that it works better than any other salt!) 2 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar with 'The Mother' 2 TBS Distilled Water (It's super important that it is distilled as it will extend the shelf life and be more pure than tap) 3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil 3 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca) Essential Oil DirectionsMix everything together in a jar (or your choice of container). Make sure that the salt is fully dissolved and then place in the fridge. Not only will it keep longer, but it will feel 10X better to put it on cold, I promise! Here's the drill: Soak a cotton ball with your mixture and dab over the affected area. Repeat every 3-5 hours or until clear. Another Option - BathsLooking to take a relaxing bath? Add 3 cups of oatmeal and let yourself steep. I recommend grinding the oatmeal in a food processor so that it doesn't clog your drain. For an added kick, add a few drops of lavender or peppermint essential oil to the bath water or pop in some baking soda. Figure out what works best for you! Do you despise oatmeal? I don't know why you would, but if you do, try adding 1 cup apple cider vinegar to your bath water to ease the itch! Have you tried something totally crazy that has worked for you? Tell me in the comments below!
